Welcome to the University of Maryland Panhellenic’s primary recruitment registration! We are glad you found us. If you want to feel connected, supported and encouraged, sorority life is for you!
Registering for primary recruitment is the first step to finding your home in the sorority community on campus. Here at the University of Maryland, we believe everyone has a purpose to discover, possibilities to explore, needs people to thrive, and a place to belong. We want to educate and equip you to embark on your journey as a potential new member (PNM). You should feel confident as you participate in recruitment.
Please have your information ready to make this process as easy as possible. You will be asked for your college GPA (if you do not yet have a college GPA just put 0.0), involvement, and leadership experience (you may also upload a resume).
GPA and Credit Hours Requirement
The University of Maryland Department of Fraternity and Sorority Life requires that potential new members have 12 UMD accepted credit hours and a 2.5 GPA to be eligible to participate in recruitment. The university will use the GPA on file with the Office of the Registrar to verify eligibility. If you are a transfer student at the university, your eligibility will be based on your UMD courses and UMD GPA. To clarify, if you transferred in Fall 2024 or before, the university will use solely your UMD GPA to verify if you are eligible for membership.
If you are transferring in Spring 2025, the university must have accepted at least 12 transfer credit hours and you must provide proof of college GPA by submitting your previous institution transcripts prior to the beginning of recruitment (please upload your transcripts to your Campus Director account before recruitment).
If you have any questions while completing this process, email Kathryn Lawless, PHA Vice President of Recruitment, at umdrecruitment@gmail.com. Please also look for updates on the PHA website at www.umdpha.com.
